Suzie brings almost 20 years of experience in optics to the Vision Michael Hare team, but her career began in a very different creative field. With a 20-year background in interior design and experience in colour coding, Suzie was ready for a change and thought optics might be a natural fit. What she didn’t realise at the time was just how much there was to learn, but almost two decades later, she still loves it.

Throughout her optical career, Suzie has continued to build her knowledge through a range of courses covering areas including basic and advanced optometry, contact lens use and teaching, and local area marketing.

Suzie particularly enjoys working in private practice, where she can take the time to genuinely get to know and care for her patients. For her, one of the most rewarding moments is seeing a patient return to collect their new glasses and leave feeling completely confident, not only in their vision, but in the frame they have chosen and how they feel wearing it. With her background in design and colour, helping someone find eyewear that makes them feel wonderful about themselves is a part of the role she especially enjoys.

Outside of work, Suzie believes in making the most of life. She loves hiking, travelling, dancing, entertaining, cooking and hosting dinner parties, karaoke, outdoor concerts, spending time with her grandchildren and taking on just about any adventure that comes her way. When she does slow down, she’s also very happy settling in for a good Netflix binge.



Suzie’s philosophy is simple: she loves life and everything that comes with it: the good, the bad, the ups, the downs and all the adventures in between.
