Faith Davey

Optical Dispenser

Faith’s journey into optics began somewhat unexpectedly. After studying to become a chef at William Angliss Institute and spending six years in the hospitality industry, she decided that a lifetime of night shifts wasn’t quite for her. When an opportunity arose to train as an Optical Mechanic, she decided to give it a try and loved it from her very first day.

While working at D&C West Optometrists Eyecare Plus in Cranbourne, Victoria, Faith completed the Optical Mechanics and Dispensing Program through OTEN in Sydney, graduating with Distinction in 2003. She has since spent 17 years in the optical industry, with a break in 2017 when she set off on the Big Lap around Australia with her two children.

Faith’s path eventually brought her to Vision Michael Hare in a rather fitting way, as a patient. After having an eye examination with Michael and experiencing his genuine passion for patient care, an opportunity arose to join the team. For Faith, accepting was an easy decision.

What she loves most about her role is helping patients feel confident in their vision. Whether it’s finding the perfect frame, recommending lens technology to make everyday life a little easier, or simply taking the time for a friendly chat, Faith finds it incredibly rewarding to help patients leave feeling happy and well looked after. She also loves the welcoming, family-like atmosphere she has found within the Vision Michael Hare team.

Outside of optics, Faith keeps very busy supporting her two children with their sporting and school activities. She coaches the Open Ladies Netball team at Runaway Bay, plays cricket with the Runaway Bay Ladies Social team during summer and loves getting outdoors for a hike whenever she can.

A little fun fact about Faith: she was born in the small Victorian Mallee town of Wycheproof, home to what is known as the world’s smallest registered mountain!
