Optical Assistant

Ellise recently made the move from Melbourne to Queensland after deciding it was time for a fresh start. She packed half her life into her car, made the drive north and began a brand-new chapter on the Gold Coast.

After settling in Queensland, a recommendation from her friend and fellow team member Jacinta introduced Ellise to the world of optics. Having worn glasses herself since the age of seven, she was intrigued by the opportunity to learn more about vision and eye health and decided to take on a completely new career path.

Before joining Vision Michael Hare, Ellise worked at NAB in the banking industry, including within the bankruptcy team. While optics has been a whole new world, she has embraced the challenge and is enjoying learning about the many different lenses, systems and everything that goes into helping patients with their vision. She particularly enjoys helping patients choose their frames and getting to know them along the way.

Outside of work, Ellise enjoys video games, photography and cosplay, as well as spending time with friends. She is also a self-confessed foodie who loves discovering new restaurants and will happily go out of her way for good oysters!
